My first Podcast Interview!

A bit of context...

So, after the Christmas buzz and still being in Lockdown 937! I was struggling to get motivated. It was January 2021 and Museums were still closed and no sign of reopening any time soon. I was having a real low about what I was doing. So when in doubt, pour yourself another cup of coffee and stick on a podcast (I know very 2021 of me!)

I typed in museums podcast, and up came ‘Skip the Queue’. A podcast dedicated to the visitor attraction and heritage sector. Speaking with leaders in the industry to share their experiences. I started listening to a few episodes and very quickly got this rush of excitement. I completey connected with the guests and their passion for the industry. Their drive to share the stories of the place and how they can continue inviting new visitors and make their attraction sustainable. They spoke about the unique characters that their buildings offered and all the history that had taken place there. I started writing them down as places I wanted to visit, and what I might capture as an illustration.

After listening to a few episodes, I got a bit nosey (doesn’t everyone?) and started to look into who the host was, and with all great social media, very quickly found Kelly Molson on Linkedin.

Not too long after Kelly invited me to have a chat. We talked all things ‘Working from home’ and how each of us have adpated to the climate given our main customer is the Heritage Sector. Then Kelly kindly offered to see if I would like to be a guest on her podcast, and a date was set.
